Hey! I'm Mairi

I'm a digital designer, a social media manager, and all things visual communication. I have seven years of design experience creating logos, posters, flyers, pamphlets, websites, and social media graphics. Just over a year ago, I started creating content and managing social media for an award-winning local bakery and cafe. This is the job I've loved most because I'm involved in everything that we do, from being a barista to knowing our local artists in town. Sometimes, I'll take on design projects for locals, which is also very fun because not only do I get to dabble in different areas of design, but I get to work with my clients face to face (and make new friends).

 

It's important to me that there is empathy between myself and who I'm working with, that we're both working from our hearts, and learning more about each other and what we're putting into the world, because that brings people closer together. The world needs more of this.

As a person, I love being outside; I don't hike or forage, I just love to observe my surroundings, both new and lifelong. I love exploring and connecting to new places, travelling, reading historical fantasy/fiction and non-fiction (especially if it's about pirates), and I love learning about the relationship between our bodies and nature. Nature-based skincare is super cool to me and that's something I really would love to research and even create one day. I could eat endless amounts of olives, watch bumblebees on a single lavender bush for a whole day, and eat a bowl of nails for breakfast (without any milk). Any SpongeBob fans out there?
